The Full Story

Hi, I'm Samantha, the owner and maker behind Flarity Candle Company. I started Flarity as a way to bring awareness to those of us who survive with autoimmune diseases and to normalize talking about things like flares (which was the inspiration behind creating the name). I have a background in healthcare, primarily working in Memory Care units at retirement homes, where I learned about aroma therapy for things like inducing appetite or reducing anxiety and stress. And so my passion for making candles and melts was born.

My autoimmune journey started when I was diagnosed with Sjogren's Disease and Lupus early in 2023, and recently have been diagnosed with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease. Because I have been through ups and downs with diagnosis and positive/negative test results, I am motivated to donate to charities that are associated with autoimmune diseases and disorders to help people like me who are trying to find answers and get relief. I also obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Arizona Global Campus to learn how to efficiently own and operate a business before I started this venture.

I am also a mother of two small boys who are my world and bring me so much joy, even though I battle chronic pain and fatigue every single day. So if you are someone like me or you know someone who experiences what I do, I'm happy you're here to help spread awareness and hope as we grow a community to support each other while enjoying some lovely aromas, one flare (or flareless) at a time.
